The Hadley-Lake Luzerne Postcard Collection

The Kinnear houses approximately 450 postcards dating from the mid-19th century through the mid-20th century. The cards depict Hadley-Luzerne and Adirondack regional scenes. Many photos capture the essence of touring and vacationing from the Victorian Era through the 1960’s and were produced by major photographers and postcard publishers of the times. Much of the collection highlight geographical locations, waterways, historic landmarks, and tourist destinations. Many include original, handwritten notes and postage stamps. Cards, photos, and notes together tell unique stories of their eras. See a small representation of our collection below.
